Communications is fundamental to the existence and survival of humans. It is a process of creating and sharing ideas, information, views, facts, feelings, etc. among each other. Good communication helps a person to adjust to the physical and social aspect of life. It also improves good human relations. Good communication skills, including speaking, listening, body language, eye contact etc., are essential and it should be developed in a person from the beginning.


With the objective to promote and build a comfortable relationship among the participants as well as among the participants and trainer, sports based activities were designed to break the ice among the students.  

The sessions were conducted in 4 Government schools of Delhi and it saw the participation of 403 students including 291 girls and 112boys from these schools.

Students actively participated in all the sessions. After the game, there were discussions on importance of active communication, active listening, what are good communication skills, verbal and non-verbal communication.

Students also shared their views on communication and its role in personality development. Harsh (class 12th, Rashtriya Pratibha Vikash Vidyalaya, RPVV) said "if we have good communication skills, we can express ourselves wisely” Another girl Ankita (class 9th, Government Girls Senior Secondary School) said, "if we want others to understand us then we must first try to understand them, which is only possible with active listening". Laxmi (class 10th RPVV) said, "sports is a good way to understand verbal and non-verbal communication and after the session I was very comfortable with my peers(including boys)”.
