Workshop on Capacity Building and Training of Panchayati Raj Functionaries in Jammu & Kashmir

 

The consultation was organised with the objective of assessing the capacity building and training approaches followed by the state and to draw an action plan for capacity building and training to strengthen Panchayati Raj Institutions in the state.

  • To review the training and capacity building material and methodology for Panchayati Raj Institutions

  • Identify possible next steps for capacity building and strengthening of panchayats in the state

+Key areas/components

PRIA provided insights in the formulation of training material on basic functional/sectorally focused courses of the J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration & Rural Development (IMPA & RD). This was done through group discussions and deliberations by involving key stakeholders, including elected representatives, government functionaries and civil society organisations.

+Key outputs
  • A two-day consultation workshop organised at IMPA &RD.

  • Consultation report on “Capacity Building & Training of Panchayati Raj Functionaries in J&K”. The report delineates the deliberations of the consultation and recommendations thereof. The report was highly appreciated by the Government of J&K.
