This project built the capacity of government and CSOs in conducting social audit.

To promote accountability and transparency to strengthen local self-government

To build their confidence in the planning, implementation and monitoring of the Central and State programmes which have defined roles for Panchayat

To enable elected representatives, NGOs, CBOs to upgrade their knowledge and skills to perform their responsibilities in the local development

To provide orientation to the key officials and other stakeholders like media, CSOs, ERs and key citizen resources associated with the functions devolved to the Panchayat
