Geographical Spread:

Initiated in 8 states namely, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan covering 35 municipalities.

The study analysed municipal revenue generation, the role of state transfers, expenditure priorities and overall fiscal balance of the towns covered in the study. It also looks into the state of accounting reforms in the cities, the extent of citizen's awareness and participation in the financial processes of the municipality.
