Objectives

To carry forward the programmatic interventions undertaken by PRIA and partners to strengthen panchayati raj institutions as participatory, responsive, transparent and accountable institutions of local self-governance

• Panchayat Resource Centres (46 PRCs continue to be the hub of intensive work).
• Interface with academia and dalit issues.
• Experience in new states (Orissa, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh).
• Celebrating success of women in local governance with many others. Bringing national experience to the global stage.
• Convergence at district levels through District Resource Centres and national leve through National Resource Centre
• Building strategy to consolidate the interventions by establishing different levels of operations.
• Capacity building of elected representatives to clarify their roles and responsibilities.
• Information dissemination through medium such as radio programmes on panchayati raj institutions, gram sabha mobilization, etc
