Objectives

Mapping out the size, complexity and outreach of the voluntary sector in Orissa, and its impact on socio-economic development of the state including its contribution to the State Domestic Product and employment generation.

To develop and document specific tools/instruments during the course of study for streamlining the State Domestic Product analysis.

Listing of stakeholders who are likely to use the findings of the study and linking it with the previous study of CSOs.
Geographical spread
Seven districts in Orissa – Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Khurda, Koraput, Sundergarh, Bubaneswar. A total of 509 NGOs were surveyed.
Key areas/components
Study the geography, topography, demography and socio-economic backdrop of the state. Field officers and supervisors were drawn from regular staff. Field investigators were recruited locally since the survey was extensive. Details collected from NGOs included:
