The project worked on mapping the size, complexity and outreach of the voluntary sector in Orissa, and its impact on socio-economic development of the state including its contribution to the State Domestic Product and employment generation.
Objectives:

Mapping out the size, complexity and outreach of the voluntary sector in Orissa, and its impact on socio-economic development of the State including its contribution to the State Domestic Product and employment generation;

To develop and document specific tools/instruments during the course of study for streamlining the SDP analysis;

Listing the stakeholders who are likely to use the findings of the study and linking it with the previous study of CSO.
Geographical Spread:
The study covered 7 districts in Orissa; Dhenkal, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Khurda, Koraput, Sundergarh, Bubaneswar.
A total of 509 NGOs were surveyed.

Field officers & supervisors were drawn from regular staff, field investigators were recruited locally since the survey was extensive.
