This survey intended to improve citizen’s access to water and sanitation services through facilitating voices of the citizens in urban governance.

Geographical Spread:
The locations included Jaipur in Rajasthan, Raipur in Chhattisgarh, Ranchi in Jharkhand, Patna in Bihar, Shimla in Himachal Pradesh and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh

Designing appropriate instrument to collect data on the existing situation of water and sanitation services

Collection of data from selected wards of the municipalities

Analysis of data and preparation of report (city wise and consolidated reports)

Sharing reports with citizens, municipal authorities and other stakeholders
Key outputs:

The direct feedback with evidence from the citizens on the capacity of water and sanitation services helped in catalyzing dialogues and engagement between municipalities and citizens

Joint action plans to improve the services have been developed in several locations
