This project was undertaken to understand the processes and procedures that have been experienced during health care delivery system, community participation and organizational structure and capacity.
Objectives:

To understand the processes and procedures that have been experienced during health care delivery system, community participation and organizational structure and capacity.

Based on this understanding, sustainability and future course of action, considering the peoples socio-economic and cultural background, need to be designed.

Evaluation was more of a future looking exercise on the basis of stock taking of the activities undertaken in the last four and half years.

A Workshop on in-depth understanding of participatory evaluation, where Gana Unnayan Parishad (GUP) along with other out-reach & support agencies across India was present.

Visits to the main office, project office & area of operation to start the participatory evaluation.

The study comprised intensive interactions with varied respondents to attain both quantitative as well as qualitative data.

The study of the context of GUP, the internal and external environment influencing it and a study of its PVOH – II project was carried out.

A study of the Health Delivery Services, Community participation, Gender issues, Organizational capacity/Institutional issues, Systems of the project, Sustainability/Replicability was carried out as well.
Key outputs:

Clarity about the impact of present activities on the community, and identification of steps to be taken for achieving the self-reliance and strategy of achieving sustainability.

Analysis of the various studies as well as the critical issues identified related to the project were drafted.

Best practices of the project were outlined.

Future direction was suggested.
