McConnell Program for Canadian Voluntary Sector Leaders

Objectives         

To strengthen the capabilities of Canadian voluntary organizations to respond to new demands, by increasing the capacity of their leaders to understand, adapt and respond effectively to the forces transforming Canadian society and the world.

Canada (120 students over a period of 3 years in three batches of 40 each)

Key areas/components

The program was offered in six modules, each examining a set of concepts and competencies: reflective, analytic, societal/global, ethical, collaborative and catalytic. Module 3, which was on societal/global mindset, took place in India (coordinated by PRIA) and Australia. In this module participants explored pressing issues around globalization and its effect on NGOs/voluntary sector.
