While working on strengthening panchayati raj institutions, many issues had emerged and were addressed. One of the issues was the devolution of 3 Fs – Funds, Functions and Functionaries. PRIA actively engaged with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (that lead to the organization of seven round table conferences) and prepared state specific fact sheets containing status of devolution in each state.

This role enabled PRIA’s state offices and partners to gain more visibility (vis-à-vis the governmental system) and created an opportunity whereby the state government’s Department of Panchayati Raj perceived PRIA’s state offices and partners as dependable with depth of knowledge as well as extensive outreach.
