This project was undertaken to understand the voices of ordinary citizens sharing their hopes and dreams about their roles and expectations at the turn of the millennium and identify ways to strengthen, promote, encourage and catalyze a wide variety of initiatives taken by citizens to address issues and problems of their everyday lives.

Geographical Spread:

In India: 13 states were covering about 2000 respondents were included.

Other National Partners in the research were in: Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan and Australia.

Identify collaborating partners on the basis of their past work and zeal to continue their work for the cause (nine finally got involved in the process)

Research envisioned as a bottom up approach where issues raised by ordinary citizens were carried forward to their leaders as well as analyzed at both state & country level along with 'Co-analysts' comprising policy makers, academicians & policy analysts.

Respondents divided into categories to cover the entire spectrum of citizens' perspectives.

Chronicling and in-depth study of secondary data.
