A joint initiative of PRIA, IDS and Ford Foundation, the study aimed at generating a set of theoretical papers contributed by scholars in academia as well as practitioners. A number of empirical studies were conducted to answer the questions ranging from governance issues that civil society address, to the nature of relationships that evolves between the state and the civil society during the course of their interface and the implications that such interface holds for both spheres. Each case study in the study explores the nuances of the interfaces between the state and the civil society.
