Capacity Development for District Planning in Rajasthan

 

The project aimed at developing a training course and content related to Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to strengthen decentralised planning in 5 selected districts of Rajasthan.

+Objectives
  1. To develop a training course and modules on content related to MDGs for localising decentralised planning and democratic governance in 5 convergence districts.

  2. To provide training at state, district and block levels.

+Geographical spread

Five districts – Barmer, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Sirohi and Udaipur – in Rajasthan

+Key areas/components
  • Training needs assessment in 5 pilot districts – Barmer, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Sirohi and Udaipur

  • One-day brainstorming workshop with premier institutions on local governance in Rajasthan, along with CSOs and elected representatives.

  • Two day trainings for the premier institutions in order to test the content and methodology of the training modules.

+Key outputs
  • Three sets of training modules:

    • State level module

    • Five district level modules (separate for each pilot district in order to target the planning process based on the MDG indicators for the district)

    • Block level module
