The study examined the nomads’ quest for an inclusive citizenship in the context of their social exclusion.
Objectives:

To examine the nomads' quest for an inclusive citizenship in the context of their social exclusion.

To deliberate on their expressions of demands to bring to the fore their interests, concerns and priorities in the implementation & formulation of affirmative government policies.
Geographical Spread:
Nomads in the Alwar district of Rajasthan viz. Gaiya Lohar, Banjara, Bhopa and Bawariya.
Key areas/components:

Meetings with the members of the nomadic communities to understand their perceptions of their problems, citizenship rights and their expectations.

They also depicted their expectations by way of sketches.

Methodology used was that of Participatory research leading to conscientization, mutual learning, development of group identity, action for claims for rights.

Data collection tools include oral history, informal group discussions, mapping exercise and in-depth interviews.
