The third edition of YOUTHRA, the annual street theatre competition organised by PRIA under the Youth n Democracy(YnD) campaign came back with a bang as colleges all across Delhi NCR came together to put forward their opinions. The spectacular celebration of youth, democracy and nukkad natak, created and facilitated knowledge, humour sprinkled with a little bit of sadness as well. Knowledge about the invisible issues threatening our democracy, humour by making light of issues which are taken seriously and sadness at the fact that these issues still exist in "21st Century India".

The plays oscillated from themes surrounding sanitation and religion, to language and voting, managing to cover all of the issues that hinder the principles and ideals surrounding any democracy, especially one as plural and diverse as India. And despite the tender age of the performers, the plays were warmly received by people of all ages, making them embrace questions and face concerns which have been at the back of their head for a long time! It was heartening to see people from all walks of life, just stop and pause their daily activities to absorb the experience of a street-play.

The winners were as follows:

1st place: Sri Aurobindo College
2nd place: Janki Devi Memorial College
3rd place: Maharaja Agrasen College
