World Toilet Day 2018 in Ajmer

Safe sanitation is a basic necessity for a healthy life and maintaining well being. OVer the past 3 years, PRIA has been working in Ajmer to promote safe sanitation systems and practices iwith the active participation of citizens in the planning and monitoring of sanitation services.

On World Toilet Day, 19th November, we are undertaking a series of activities to raise awareness, and reflect on safe sanitation in Ajmer, especially for urban poor. It is also an opportunity to honour our sanitation workers and reflect on the lives of those who are involved in cleaning of streets, drains and toilets.

If you are in Ajmer, you can catch:

#1. A street play in Sadhu Basti on importance of clean toilets and maintaining community toilets by taking ownership
#2. Toilet talk with community in Kalyanipura on importance of individual household toilets for safe sanitation and breaking the taboos about toilets; a discussion between toilet users and non users
#3. Taking selfies (for posting on social media) with sanitation workers and with clean toilets and honouring and thanking sanitation workers
