Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) has been working with domestic workers in Delhi-NCR for past one year for creating safe workplaces for informal workers from Gurgaon, Faridabad and South Delhi.

Women workers were trained on participatory research tool called Participatory Safety Audit to assess the safety of women in their spaces. Their assessment map illustrated the various forms of harassment and sexual violence faced by women and girls on their way to work, school and college. It is the right of every women and girls to safe access on roads and public transport.

The main purpose of this meeting in the police station was to share the finding of the assessment with the police department and also work together on ways forward for creating safe spaces for women and girls.  At the end, both police and domestic workers have agreed to work together by taking responsibility and helping each other to achieve the objective of making spaces safe for all.
