PRIA International Academy (PIA) and Asia South Pacific Association for Basic and Adult Education (ASPBAE) jointly organised a Webinar on “Adult Learning and Education Central to Responding Under COVID-19”  Wednesday, 29th April 2020 between 12:00 and 1:30 p.m. The webinar deliberated on issues including new learning requirements that COVID-19 is posing for families and communities locally, innovations in use of digital and other forms of learning approaches that are being implemented to support learning and coping by vulnerable and excluded communities and implications that emerge for practitioners and local organisations in terms of their programmes and practices in the medium-term responses to COVID-19.

The panellists for the webinar included Ms Maria Lourdes Almazan Khan (Secretary General, Asia South-Pacific Association of Basic and Adult Education, Philippines/India), Ms Zulminarni Hidjazi Arsyad (“Nanni”, Director, PEKKA (Perempuan Kepala Keluarga) or "Women Headed Family Empowerment, Jkarta Temur, Indonesia), Dr Uwe Gartenshlaeger (Depuy Director, DVV International, President of European Association of Education of Adults, Germany), and Ms Archana Dwivedi (Director, Nirantar Trust. The webinar was moderated by Dr Rajesh Tandon (Founder-President, PRIA & UNESCO Co-chair on Community-based Research & Social Responsibility in Higher Education).
