UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education Inception Meeting

The UNESCO Chair inception meeting was held on 9 May 2012 at the Wila Bonn office. The members present in the meeting included   Budd Hall (Co-Chair),  Rajesh Tandon (Co-Chair),  Micheal  Cuthill (Australian Centre for Business and Sustainable Development), Leslie Brown and Maeve Lydon (University of  Victoria, Canada), Emilio Lucio-Villegas (Faculty of Education, University of Seville, Spain), Howard Rosing and Namrata Jaitli (from PRIA).

The focus the meeting was to brief the group about the mandate of the UNESCO Chair on Community-based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education, of which Dr Rajesh Tandon and Dr Budd Hall are co-chairs, and to discuss possible areas of work of the UNSECO Chair. The agenda included sharing the status of the activities of GASER and discussing ways forward.The central theme of the work is the development of and support for knowledge democracy.
