Training on Participatory Planning

PRIA in partnership of SATHEE and ARGHYAM will jointly organize two days’ residential training programme on Participatory Planning in relation to development and implementation of Water Security Plan (WSP) in six arsenic affected panchayats of two blocks of Sahibganj District under the project of ‘Promoting Decentralized Drinking Water Security in Sahibganj- Jharkhand’.

Participants: The participants will be the project team members, FLW (Frontline workers) from six panchayats, district coordinator, block coordinator and cadres/volunteers of selected Gram Panchayats. Total number of Participants- 30

Facilitator & Resource Persons: Mr. Nagendra Singh, SSK, Lucknow, and Mr. Kumar Sanjay from PRIA – Ranchi.

Learning Focus/Objectives:

• To develop concept and understanding on Participatory Planning among Project Team members and volunteers

• Identification and Specific Roles of concerned Stakeholders

• To learn about the Steps and Methods of Participatory Planning (Envisioning, SWOT Analysis, Planning and Budgeting, Resource Envelop, etc.)

• To learn about the role of community participation in relation to development and implementation of Water Security Plans

• To develop a strategic action-plan of community, PRIs, VWSCs for preparation of water security plans in selected GPs.
