As an intern at PRIA, Ms. Hannah Fischer, a student at James Madison College, Michigan State University, USA, shared her learnings from her internship at PRIA on Friday, May 19, focusing on ‘Strategies for Local Resource Mobilization: Findings from Case Studies of Indian Civil Society Organisations’.

She shared the main findings from her primary research conducted through interviews with CSOs about how they engage with local resource mobilisation (LRM). By local resource mobilisation, she mainly referred to gathering individual contributions domestically to further a CSO's cause (i.e. not foreign, corporate, or institutional sources). Her discussion points mainly focused around what elements and methods were crucial for successful LRM, and what the possible benefits, and challenges are of adopting this route.

As part of her research studies under the supervision of Dr. Kaustuv K. Bandyopadhyay, she was working with Harshita Umrao on 'Advancing Social Causes Through Local Resource Mobilisation: Case Studies of Indian Civil Society Organisations'.
