Sanitation for All - City Consultation, Jhansi

PRIA in collaboration with Jhansi Municipal Corporation is organising a day long city consultation on 9th March, 2018. The theme of the consultation is ‘Sanitation for All’ and it is based on PRIA’s studies on sanitation services and a study on women sanitation workers in Jhansi. The consultation will explore issues of Solid Waste management (SWM), Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM) through discussions and deliberations. The consultation will also exhibit the findings from PRIA’s study on women sanitation workers conducted to explore the problematics associated with their lives and the politics of their identity in Jhansi. The findings of the study will be rounded up by a discussion on the potential of integrating women into the National Skill Development program.

The consultation will be attended by elected members of Jhansi Municipal corporation including Mayor, Commissioner, JMC, officials, civil society organisations, academia, media and consultants working under the umbrella of Smart Cities and AMRUT. The consultation will be addressed by national experts from across the sector to discuss the present and future of sanitation for all in the city.
