As part of its Apna Swasthya Apni Pehel initiative, PRIA is organizing a Ratri Chopal for women of Govindgarh in Rajasthan to come together and discuss their maternal health issues. An interesting and innovative approach, it aims to provide a platform for rural women to discuss the gaps in accessing maternal health services. The Chopal will  be held in the evening, which will allow maximum number of women to attend.

At the Chopal, women will undertake a community health mapping exercise to identify gaps and solutions, and draft a list of demands to improve their access to quality maternal health care. They will be supported to submit their list of demands to the sarpanches of their panchayats. By making health their personal agenda, and taking leadership in ensuring the entire community is benefitted, the women of Govindgarh are showing the way in ensuring governance institutions become responsive and accountable towards the needs of women.
