Ratri Chaupal on Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness Day

February 12^th has been marked as the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Awareness Day to raise awareness and educate the people around issues related to sexual and reproductive health. In the urban pockets of the country, we see that this day is celebrated through events and seminars being organized by civil society organizations, government bodies and even hospitals and social media is replete with thoughts, messages and debates. However, in rural areas the conversation around SRH is yet to begin. In an attempt to initiate the same, PRIA’s Govindgarh (Rajasthan) based team used the Ratri Chaupal as a medium of communication platform to raise their issues and concerns.

This chaupal was organized in Gram Panchayat Gudaliya, Govindgarh block on 15 February, 2019.  Approximately 95 people from the all the age group (school going children, youth, adolescents, old age people and women participated in the Chaupal.
