Putting Urban Poverty on the Political Agenda in Chhattisgarh

PRIA has been consistently working in the  cities of Raipur and Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh under the project "Strengthening Civil Society Voices on Urban Poverty". With the upcoming Lok Sabha elections , PRIA has taken the initiative under this project of leading a campaign for "Putting Governance of Urban Poverty on the Political Agenda" with the cooperation of local partners. The campaign is being simultaneously carried out in 11 states.

In Chhattisgarh the campaign commenced with a commissionaire level consultation in Bilaspur on 26 February 2014. The consultation was attended by CSOs from Raigarh, Korba, Janjgir–Champa, Bilaspur and Mungeli working on urban issues, political representatives of the Bhartiya Janta Party, Congress party and the AAP, and members of the media.
