PRIA has long history of engaging national and international university students as Interns under various programmes.

In this series of internship,   two interns, namely, Ms. Kelly Souza Marron and Ms. Aislin Lavin who are pursuing MSc Development Studies from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, joined PRIA on 15th May 2018 for a period of 2 months.

First presentation was by Ms. Marron, who did her internship under Ms. Nandita Bhatt, Sr. Programme Manager with topic “Sexual Harassment of Domestic Workers and #MeToo Campaign.”

Her presentation was very good and well defined. The methodology she adopted for her internship in learning about the issue and the way those issues highlighted was commendable.

She emphasised the need to expand the popular social media #MeToCampaign should be taken beyond ‘social media walls’ and take it to the community level.

Second presentation was by Ms. Lavin on the topic ““How do international volunteers impact the organizations that host them?” did her internship under Dr. Kaustuv K Bandyopadhyay, Director.

A write on the said topic by Aislin is available in https://www.pria.org/pria/?p=3295

This was a new theme with an analysis of short term volunteerism in the development sector and how it is viewed as a passion or job.

A video film on the two interns were shown and this  was quite impressive.

Finally, both the interns were presented with memento by their supervisors.
