Institute of Development Studies (IDS) Bellagio Conference

Bellagio Initiative is a series of global consultations organized by Institute of Development Studies (IDS) for identifying the role of philanthropy in International development. One of these consultations was held in PRIA, Delhi from 19th – 20th Sep., 11.  Total 14 participants from India, Bangkok, Nepal, and South Africa participated in the dialogue.

The primary focus of the meeting was to share the knowledge and experiences on the issues concerning development and urbanization and identifying the role of philanthropy in overcoming these issues. The purpose of this dialogue was not just to share, but also to act on it by generating debates, or, discussions to brining done to improve this, what are the challenges that they (as Civil Societies) face and what roles philanthropists are, or, can play in this process.g change.
