Citizen Forum Meeting - Jhansi

A meeting of Jhansi ‘Citizen Forum’ was held on 29 November 2018. A ‘Citizen Forum’ at the city level, formed under the ongoing Engaged Citizens, Responsive City project, includes citizens from across the city in actively working together to demand improvement in sanitation services from the municipality. The Forum undertakes sanitation management activities, participatory monitoring of sanitation services, and works to raise awareness among all citizens of Jhansi. The event will be attended by resident welfare associations, settlement improvement committees, market associations, trade associations, professional associations and other citizen groups. It will mainly focus on sensitising citizen groups and stimulating their participation in improving sanitation in Jhansi. Some basic tools to help initiate citizen engagement will also be shared at the meeting.
