A comprehensive learning programme to support institutional development has been missing for a long time. There is a felt need and gap in the capacity strengthening of smaller, local, and emerging CSOs for preparing them as sustainable, resilient, locally rooted, and locally networked organizations to respond to the diversity of populations and social concerns in the post-pandemic period. PRIA has, therefore, launched a new capacity-building programme for small and medium-sized non-profit organisations called “Capacities for Social Transformation and Empowerment – CAPSTONE”.

PRIA conducted a CAPSTONE workshop for the 2nd Special Cohort of 25 CSOs in the Northeast. CSOs from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Nagaland participated in the workshop. During the three-day workshop that was conducted from 12th October 2022 to 14th October 2022 in Sangai Continental, Imphal, the objective was to make organisations assess their organisation and develop a clear understanding of all the management components- HR, leadership & Governance, Financial Management, etc. in alignment with vision, mission & theory of change organisation has devised. Organisations were expected to diagnose the gaps and priority areas for action now and were suggested to conduct a similar exercise with their teams. After the priority areas are set for each organisation, they are expected to work on them accordingly through participatory decision-making. Meanwhile, capacity-building support would be provided by PRIA.
