Annual STAR 2022 Global Conference

The Global Conference was an academic conference and the premiere annual event of the Society of Transnational Academic Researchers (STAR) Scholars Network. The conference aimed to help academicians, scholars, researchers, and students expand their academic and social networks by building human-to-human relationships with scholars across the world and reimagining the possibilities of an academic conference that spans borders, celebrates cultures, facilitates critical conversations, builds global connections, forms lifelong relationships, and welcomes everyone.

Dr. Tandon was invited to give the keynote Speech in the Inauguration Session on 7 December 2022 at the Annual STAR 2022 Global Conference. STAR Scholars Network and the University of Mauritius hosted a 2-day Global Conference from 7-8 December, in Hybrid mode from Mauritius, focusing on the theme, Charting the Way Towards the Knowledge Economy and Society.

The STAR Scholars Network is a member-supported 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation registered in the State of Maryland, United States of America. The STAR Scholars Network leverages the power of transnational connections to support upward academic mobility for new generations of international scholars and graduate students through programs, publications, and partnerships. The STAR Scholars Network has now expanded its network to 115 countries, connecting 15,000+ scholars and students with 2,353 universities across the world. Out of 2,353 universities, over 42% are Asian universities engaging with the STAR Scholars Network, including more than 30 Indian universities.

The conference aimed at reflecting on ways and means countries can develop regulatory systems and policies, a sound ecosystem and infrastructure, and concrete actions for innovation to thrive. It also aimed at discussing the tangible impacts of the K- economy on sustainable development and society at large. It is clear that the K-economy goes beyond academia and relies on close partnerships and interaction among local and international stakeholders.

This year’s conference theme, Charting the Way Towards the Knowledge Economy and Society, focused on Quality Education and Research; Digitalisation and Technology in Education; Regulatory measures and policies; Leadership; Infrastructure; Academia-Industry-Government Partnerships; Interactions with Civil Society; Financing the K-economy; Socio-economic Impacts of the K-economy.
