Internships

PRIA offers a number of opportunities for internships. PRIA’s internship programme is for all adult learners – national and international college/university students and practitioners of social change. The internship offers an unique learning opportunity through a combination of field engagement and desk work under the supervision of experienced professionals. Interns gain insights into participatory methodologies and tools, and develop awareness of gender issues in social change. PRIA has hosted student interns from around the world and from various universities in India.

In 2015-16, PRIA hosted 10 student interns. The students were from diverse fields of study such as engineering, law, social sciences and education from universities across the globe – Canada, Hong Kong, France and India. They were involved in different field programmes including Kadam Badhate Chalo, capacitating planning officials, supporting participatory village water and sanitation plans, and promoting sanitation behaviour change.

The organisation provides a conducive and safe environment for learning and working. PRIA is committed to preventing sexual harassment at the workplace and the organisation ensures that all employees, interns, volunteers and visitors are provided a safe and clean environment in which to undertake their work.

The following students are currently doing their internships at PRIA.
