Annual Report 2006-07 provides an overview of the Silver Jubilee celebrations to mark PRIA's completing twenty five years of existence. A stock taking of these 25 years showed PRIA's very visible contributions in the fields of girl child education, National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Right to Information and Solid Waste Mangement. PRIA took steps towards ensuring devolution; Panchayat activity was mapped; gender mainstreaming was carried out through numerous interventions. Summaries of the courses launched by PRIA's Continuing Education were provided, and new collaborations were discussed.
Annual Report 2005-2006 presents the achievements resulting from the implementation of programmes within the framework 'Governance Where People Matter' over the past three years since 2003. These achievements provide the building block for taking forward the interventions in the next period. The report talks about democratising elections through PEVAC; facilitating learning and building capacity to address issues of governance; mainstreaming development through Panchayats including facilitating devolution. The report also covers PRIA's newly launched consultancy unit and Continuing Education unit.
Annual Report 2004-2005 presents evaluations of various aspects of programmes launched during the year. Also, the impacts of the new strategic plan 'Governance Where People Matter' adopted in April 2003 are analysed. The outcomes of the restructuring carried out in the previous year are presented in the report. The report discusses the strengthening of grassroots democracy through Pre-Election Voters' Awareness Campaigns (PEVAC); policy advocacy through various round table conferences and partnerships with state governments; institutionalising of gender mainstreaming; and supporting learning on governance.
Annual Report 2003-2004 evaluates governance aspects in an era of globalisation, when the need is to balance globalisation with a commitment to making change work for all. The report presents the consequences of PRIA's restructuring itself, both internally and outwardly, to explore strategies, practices, engagements and negotiations which aim to address issues of equity and social justice. This was in keeping with the new strategic plan of PRIA to operationalise 'Governance Where People Matter'.
