To ascertain the socio-economic profile of the villagers.

To find out the positive and negative impact of rapid industrialization.

To find out the relationship that prevails between the nodal group and the affected community.

To understand the perceptions of villagers about aspects like accountability and responsibility.

To conduct a sample study to determine effectiveness in implementation of various developmental programmes by the nodal group.

The study included both quantitative and qualitative data.

Four schedules were created for data collection from the field. The first schedule dealt with the information from the nodal groups; the second schedule was for data collection from villagers directly affected by industrialization i.e., land displacement; the third schedule related to respondents who were indirectly affected by the process of industrialization; the fourth schedule collected information regarding the affected villages.

Besides these interview schedules, other data collection methods like observation and focus group discussions were also done.
