Objectives
To provide sensitization/training and capacity building of members of panchyati raj institutions on gender issues, i.e., gender budgeting, gender audit, and its importance in human development issues as one of the major components
Geographical spread
16 districts of Chhattisgarh in two phases – Koriya, Sarguja, Korba, Jashpur, Janjgir-Champa, Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund and Kanker in Phase I, and Raipur, Bilaspur, Bastar, Dhamtari, Kawardha, Dantewada, Raigarh in Phase II.
Key areas/components

Prepare detailed training plan and methodology on how PRI elected representatives can be effectively sensitized/trained in matters related to gender budgeting/audit, etc, with detailed timeline.

Prepare training material, tool kit and feedback form to be provided to the participants in the training.

Training in 8 districts to all members of zila panchayat, 79 blocks covering all elected PRI members of janpad panchayats and not less than 2 PRI members from each gram panchayat under the block.

Submission of periodic reports as designed/decided by CG-HDRCU covering physical, financial and technical progress made. This included the feedback received from the participants and its analysis.

Preparation of a detailed follow-up plan after completion of the assignment on how to track the impact of the training, district wise documentation with suggestive measures where required.

Provide detailed district-wise report on gender budgeting and gender auditing to be considered/implemented in planning and budgeting process of any programme/project at all the three levels of panchayats after the training. This included the requirements of gender-disaggregated data sought by members of PRIs and incidences of compilation of gender disaggregated data at all the three levels of PRIs.

Prepare proper documentation of training programmes so that in future, if required, other departments can use these documents for training their members.

15,200 elected representatives trained, of which 11,948 were men and 3252 were women elected representatives.

Successful completion of gram panchayat level training, a detailed report on the trainings indicating the participants’ views and impact/monitoring process along certification by the CEO of the janpad panchayat
