This project was to provide secretarial support in the formation of a joint forum of SFCs to help them make recommendations for a more realistic and need based SFC reports and recommendations.
Objectives:
To provide secretarial support in the formation of a joint forum of SFCs to help them make recommendations for a more realistic and need based SFC-reports and recommendations .
Geographical Spread:
Task Force comprised Chairpersons of SFCs from seven states: Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttaranchal and Uttar Pradesh.

Facilitated understanding of Institutional Capacities of State Finance Commisions

Quality of the SFC reports: (i) What are the gaps in reporting; (ii) Model steps to be followed by each SFC in consultation with different stakeholders; (iii) Level of content, depth and analysis of the existing financial situation to be included in the report; (iv) Time frame of the Report; (v) Action Taken Report by the State Government
Key outputs:
Continuous interactions and exchange of information with the members of the Task Force on SFC from the national level. PRIA facilitated exchange of information between different SFC members.
