This project addressed the problem of lack of downward accountability in the delivery of developmental programs by local self governing institutions by facilitating social audit through involvement of affected people and influencing decision-makers by disseminating the knowledge gained in the process.
Objectives:

This project is also crafted to educate, sensitise and capacitate elected representatives / other stakeholders so that they support and lead efforts to make these LSGIs accountable.

Key outputs:
Social audits in 17 GPs of Nalanda (Bihar), Jamtara (Jharkhand), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Panna (MP), Kangra (HP) , Dang (Gujarat), Mirzaapur (UP) , Korba and Rajnandgaon (Chattisgarh) was facilitated which involved about 50000 Ers and citizens. The social audits led to improvements in the delivery of NREGS, demanding accountability from the government and the Ers.
