The project developed training modules in a participatory manner to train master trainers at the state level so as to strengthen the decentralised planning process in Madhya Pradesh.
To develop four training modules to facilitate the decentralised planning process.
To develop Master Trainers at the state level who will further train trainers at the district level to facilitate the local level planning exercise.
To provide hand holding support during the district level trainings in 15 districts (5 district from each of the three zones of the state) to ensure the quality of the training
Process documentation of the overall process in the sample 15 districts.
Institutional capacity development: Phased approach to capacity building processes for different cadres of master trainers was adopted. These master trainers were drawn from state/district departments, Technical Support Groups (TSGs) and CSOs.
Development of tools/processes/checklists: In addition to the modular training courses for District Planning Committees (DPC), TSGs and planning officers, PRIA also worked towards development of planning tools/processes/checklist to be used by the facilitators as ready reference.
Quality monitoring and handholding support: Field monitoring of the training provided by Jan Abhiyan Parishad (JAP) and handholding support. Quality monitoring of processes adopted by the State Planning Commission for the preparation of district plans.
Sustainability and follow-up: In collaboration with the State Planning Commission, efforts were made to include the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) to address issues related to sustainability.
