The project aimed at developing a training course and content related to Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to strengthen decentralised planning in 5 selected districts of Rajasthan.
Objectives
- To develop a training course and modules on content related to MDGs for localising decentralised planning and democratic governance in 5 convergence districts.
- To provide training at state, district and block levels.
Geographical spread
Five districts – Barmer, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Sirohi and Udaipur – in Rajasthan
Key areas/components
- Training needs assessment in 5 pilot districts – Barmer, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Sirohi and Udaipur
- One-day brainstorming workshop with premier institutions on local governance in Rajasthan, along with CSOs and elected representatives.
- Two day trainings for the premier institutions in order to test the content and methodology of the training modules.
Key outputs
- Three sets of training modules:
- State level module
- Five district level modules (separate for each pilot district in order to target the planning process based on the MDG indicators for the district)
- Block level module
