Objectives
The broad objective of the workshop was to promote debates and discussion on the key principles of participatory monitoring and evaluation, its application to different purposes and contexts, methodologies, key issues and challenges emerging from practice, and potential areas for future knowledge generation in the Asian context.

In depth discussions around 5 thematic areas viz. civil society building, policy dialogue and advocacy, citizen monitoring, participatory impact assessment and disaster and rehabilitation.

Each session started with presentations followed by open discussion and smaller group discussions. The last session was dedicated to consolidating the discussion of various thematic sessions and to highlight salient lessons and recommendations from the workshop.
Key outputs
A total of 48 participants from Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Netherlands, New Zealand and United Kingdom participated in the workshop.
