She started her presentation by giving the context of her research and show the methodology used during this time. She mentioned that she had visited 12 settlements and met 68 SIC members, 12 Informal settlement inhabitants, 04 Ward councilors and 4 survey investigators during her survey and took interview/field notes and discussed about the empowerment process model. She also had attended 2 municipal meetings during this period. She hope that SIC members could get to know their rights, how to fill official forms, information on for toilets and getting electricity for all inhabitants.
Through Participatory Research as trigger to collective organisation and empowerment, she carried out the study. She shared the examples of SIC and Municipalities. She also discussed about the factors curbing empowerment such as Lack of resources of public services, corruption and dysfunctional mechanism.
