Influencing DPC members to implement Village Sanitations Plans in Raipur

PRIA organised a day long programme to influence the members of the Raipur District Planning Committee (DPC) so that they could take lead and support the Gram Panchayats who have successfully drafted their Village Sanitation Plans in Raipur. The programme was organised on 16^th Marhc, 2016 at Raipur. In all 70 representatives including members of DPC (representing Dharsiva block), Zila Panzhayat, Janpad Panchayat (Dharsiva) Sarpanch, Panchayat Secretaries, Aanganbadi workers, Mitanins, Gram Panchayat and Block level Navratnas and CEO Janpad Panchayat (Dharsiwa) participated in the workshop.

During the program the overall processes related to drafting f VSPs were shared by the various representatives of Gram Panchayats. After hearing the process the DPC members ( Ms. Dulari Chaturvedani, Mrs. Savita Chandraker and  Mrs. Pushpa Banjare) agreed to take the issue further and to share the VSPs processes and engagement in making communities open defecation free (ODF). They also said that thye will take this issue to the district and  state level authorities.

In all 20 VSPs of Dharsiwa block were shared during the programme. Ms. Dulari Chaturvedani (President, DWSC Raipur) also shared that PRIA is always trying to influence panchayati raj institution's capacity & working for sustainable system activation.
