PRIA-Hyderabad in collaboration with Confederation Of Voluntary Associations (COVA) and Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) organized a series of events in Hyderabad to celebrate women as individuals, not as mothers, daughters, sisters and wives. With the theme of this year's International Women's Day as “Pledge for Parity”, this series of events strives to inculcate parity in our thoughts, words and deeds.
The second event in the series, on the theme of 'Empowerment of Women- A Way Forward', ws held at G. Pullareddy degree college in Mehadipatnam on 9 March 2016. Team members from PRIA-Hyderabad and YWCA spoke to the students on 'Violence against women' and 'Aspects of parenting in ensuring empowerment of women' respectively. The program was well received by both faculty and students. They felt that  women need to be empowered and co-educational institutions need to be promoted for healthy gender relations.

The first event in the series was a community meeting with youth from Krishna Nagar in Hyderabad. The youth discussed gender equality and were trained on preparing a skit on various themes related to violence against women.
