Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) is an international centre for learning and promotion of participation and democratic governance. Since its inception in 1982, PRIA has embarked on a set of key initiatives focusing on participatory research, citizen-centric development, capacity building, knowledge building and policy advocacy. With a combination of training, research and consultancy, it has grounded its work with conceptual rigour and understanding of social reality to command the strategic direction of interventions. PRIA works with a diverse range of partners at the local, national and global levels.

Launch of Programme on Strengthening Gender Response of Panchayats in Rajasthan, Jaipur, 14 July 2010
With an aim to bring issues of maternal health and sex selection to the mainstream of the Panchayati Raj institutions’ development agenda, PRIA has launched a programme on Strengthening Gender Response of Panchayats in Rajasthan on 14 July 2010 in Jaipur.The three-year project, which aims to cover 21 districts of Rajasthan, is being supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Citizenship And Democracy, Lessons from Decade-long Global Research Partnership
At the formal conclusion of ten years of Citizenship DRC, onSeptember 8, 2010 a policy-oriented public meeting will be held in New Delhi where international comparative lessons will be shared and debated. All the research teams from Angola, Bangladesh, Brazil, Nigeria, South Africa and UK will meet to share lessons and plan future collective initiatives. Read More>>
