Project Title: Institutional Assessment of AAD
|
Objectives
|
- To build human and institutional capacity of Afghanaid and of its partners to facilitate a process of engendered and inclusive social transformation through Afghanaid’s managed grassroots programming, capacity development of duty bearers and civil society, and higher level advocacy and policy research work
- To conduct organizational strategic review of Afghanaid and recommend actions to steer its effort and investment of resources to better deliver impact informed by its vision and mission and programme strategy.
- To facilitate Afghanaid in initiating and nurturing evolution of a networked arrangement of national institutions to lead this work in future in Afghanistan

|
- Strategic Institutional Review of AAD focusing at Governance, Management, Programme levels
- Conduct a one day Seminar for Donors and Government representatives on Local Governance
- Developing strategy and methodological framework for institutional and human capacity enhancement at community levels
- Developing relevant modules and materials for supporting the above capacity requirements
- Strengthening the capacity of field staff of AAD with new skills and knowledge to support the processes of local institutional development and promoting good governance in an ongoing manner
- Augment and deepen the capacity of senior team of AAD as facilitators of learning to better support field staff
- Assist AAD in evolving relevant learning systems internally, including production of learning materials
- Develop Institutional capacities of Local Civil Society organization so as to be sustainable and achieving change local development
- Support setting up of a National Resource Center in Afghanistan through a network of Institutions/committed individuals
- Advocacy on Governance process to create an accountable and enabling environment

|
- Assessment report of AAD was prepared and submitted.
- Governance seminar was successfully conducted and received well.
- Development of a position paper on Governance was completed
- A detailed budgeted plan for capability enhancement has been developed.
- Master TOT for the selected staff of AAD was successfully conducted.
- Provincial TOT at 3 locations (provincial hqs) for developing community development facilitators.
- Provided tool for capacity building need assessment of CBOs promoted by AAD
- Draft Training Manual for Field Staff in English was developed.
- Refresher Workshop for trainers of MTOT and PTOT to be held in Feb 2011
